FinTrU Volunteers Dig Deep In Donegal

FinTrU volunteers recently braved the wild weather to join our woodland partner Trees on the Land for a day of native tree planting in Donegal.

Despite the wind and rain, our volunteers dug deep, remaining full of energy and enthusiasm as they helped to plant a diverse mix of native tree species at the Celtic Peace Garden in Donegal – a few miles outside the city of Derry.

The newly planted trees will form part of a growing network of native woodland across the region. This not only strengthens the ecology of the area but the creation of greener, more resilient environments contributes to the long term wellbeing of local communities – something everyone can enjoy and benefit from.

The planting was organised in collaboration with Wild Inishowen – a long established voluntary group that has been working for many years to increase native woodland cover across the peninsula.
