FinTrU Meter House opens its doors to host City of London’s Women Pivoting To Digital Taskforce event
At the beginning of April, FinTrU’s Meter House opened its doors to host City of London’s Women Pivoting To Digital Taskforce event.
Held in collaboration between City of London Corporation, Belfast Chamber and FinTrU, the event brought together voices from across government, financial and professional services, and senior leadership, highlighting the power of reskilling, upskilling, and thinking beyond traditional talent routes. Key topics at the roundtable event included what needs to change for women in digital, the digital skills landscape, and the pivot journey. The overarching theme being how untapped female talent can address talent gaps and unlock productivity and growth.
City of London's Pivoting To Digital Taskforce aims to address the underrepresentation of women working in digital careers by bringing more attention to and action around supporting mid-career women to pivot to digital roles. With less than 20% of women working in AI and data roles and even fewer working in IT, according to the Alan Turing Institute, this work is incredibly needed.
Part of the discussion on the day included the ways government and employees can work together to solve existing skill gaps, drive productivity, and increase opportunities for women in Northern Ireland.
Alongside representatives across FinTrU and other financial services, the Women Pivoting To Digital Taskforce event was attended by Minister for the Economy Caoimhe Archiblad and Head of NI Civil Service Jayne Brady. We thank them for taking the time to attend along with all the presenters and participants who helped to shape a thought-provoking and inspiring event. FinTrU is a proud member of City of London's Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce and look forward to celebrating its ongoing success.
