FinTrU Launches 'Career Compass' in Partnership with ATU

FinTrU has today announced the launch of Career Compass in partnership with the School of Business, Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

Career Compass is a new initiative designed to provide dedicated learning opportunities both in-house at ATU’s Letterkenny campus and at FinTrU Letterkenny, supporting students as they navigate their career paths.

Students who are exploring career options, seeking guidance, or looking to connect with industry professionals will be able to take part in valuable sessions covering career pathways, employability skills, and networking.

Karen Donaldson, Talent Acquisition at FinTrU, said: “By partnering with ATU, FinTrU is investing in the next generation – empowering students with the skills, confidence, and direction to thrive in the working world. Most importantly, it’s keeping and growing talent in Donegal, bridging local ambition and local opportunity.”

This new partnership further strengthens the fruitful relationship between FinTrU and ATU Donegal. Currently, over 50% of FinTrU Ireland staff are ATU alumni, while 56% of participants in its last two Letterkenny-based Graduate and Placement Programmes were ATU students.

Patricia Doherty, Head of the Department of Business Studies at ATU, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with FinTrU for the Career Compass programme. Making the move from university to a first career can be daunting, so gaining employability skills and practical experience of the office environment will prove invaluable when our students begin their career paths.”

Sylvester Clancy, FinTrU Ireland Site Lead, added: “Working in partnership with the community is one of our key principles at FinTrU. Career Compass will provide students with employability skills such as interview techniques and presentation skills that they can take with them on their journey after graduation, in whichever career they choose to pursue.”

FinTrU will be onsite with ATU in the coming months to begin the Career Compass programme. 

FinTrU is currently seeking Letterkenny-based students for its Placement Programme 2026.
