DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

FinTrU announces sponsorship of ATU Donegal sports teams

FinTrU, a technologically-enabled Regulatory Solutions company, specialising in the areas of KYC, Compliance, Legal, Risk & Controls and Operations, is delighted to announce the sponsorship of Atlantic Technological University Donegal sports teams.
Established in 2013 and headquartered in Belfast, FinTrU designs technology-enabled solutions for Investment Banks across the world. FinTrU currently employs more than 1,100 people worldwide with offices in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Dublin, London, Maastricht, New York and Porto. In March 2022, FinTrU was named by the Financial Times as one of Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies for the second year in a row.
FinTrU Executive Director, Sylvester Clancy, said “We enjoy a great partnership with ATU Donegal and have forged a thriving relationship over the years. Announcing our Letterkenny office in July this year was a milestone moment in the FinTrU journey, and we are delighted to continue our support with the sponsorship of ATU Donegal sports teams. The sponsorship will also include two sports scholarships for students who are completing a finance or technology-related degree to support our local talent in their future careers.”
In July 2022, FinTrU announced the establishment of a European Delivery Centre in Letterkenny and the creation of 300 jobs over the next five years. The company subsequently welcomed its first Financial Services Academy in the town in October 2022.
ATU Donegal Head of Sports, Michael Murphy said “We are delighted to enter into this sponsorship with FinTrU. This sponsorship will enable us to further develop our support for our competitive sports programme here at ATU Donegal. ATU Donegal is proud of its vibrant sports scene, where we compete strongly on both female and male fronts, in multiple sports at Higher Education level. The commitments made in this sponsorship agreement will continue to promote and build on this”
