Mission Statement

As a committee we value diversity across all levels within the firm and pledge to achieve greater gender balance in the workplace.

Internally our purpose is to raise awareness of the benefits of gender diversity across FinTrU. Our wider objective is to help strengthen the Financial Services industry by empowering women to achieve their potential at each career stage.

FinTrU is committed to gender balance at all levels of the organisation, with particular emphasis on developing Female Leaders for the Future.

We have adopted a dual strategy to make FinTrU both a more attractive employer to female graduates at the start of their careers and to provide the best development opportunities for women at more senior levels.

FinTrU’s effort in attaining gender balance has saw our success in achieving the Diversity Charter Mark NI Bronze Award and we have successfully retained our award for 2020.

The Charter Mark recognises that organisations cannot reach their full potential unless they benefit from a rich variety of talent and abilities from their employees.” The award shows FinTrU’s commitment to gender equality and a balance workplace is key to workplace culture.

The mark has enabled FinTrU to track the set gender goals to ensure FinTrU continually progresses in this set area.

Women in Finance Committee Goals

To ensure that our female employees feel engaged and included, FinTrU's Women in Finance Committee has the following goals:

  • Engagement of Secondary Schools at both GCSE and A-Level

  • Interaction with Universities and Graduates from all degree backgrounds to promote Internships and our Financial Services Academy programmes

  • Promotion of internal and external guest speaker events for both graduate and experienced professionals

  • Ongoing development for the FinTrU female population

International Women's Day 2020

To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, our Women in Finance Committee held a coffee morning across all offices to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. This day marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

International Women’s Day 2020 campaign theme was #EachforEqual. An equal world is an enabled world and we are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions, men and women alike.

FinTrU as a company offers coaching and mentoring opportunities and has employed a dedicated resource to aid learning and development. In January 2020, 44% of FinTrU's promotion population were women.

In terms of Learning & Development, FinTrU has introduced the 'Rise TrU' and 'Managing as FinTrU' initiatives to help empower women within the business to achieve their full potential as managers and SMEs (subject matter experts).
