FinTrU achieves ISO 27001 certification for information protection and security
BY CONOR DONNELLY
MONDAY 1 APRIL 2019
FinTrU has been awarded ISO 27001 certification, the world's highest accreditation for information protection and security. The certificate validates the delivery of financial and related services and associated support functions from all FinTrU offices in Belfast, London and Derry/Londonderry.
The independent assessment was carried out by Certification Europe (UK) Ltd and deemed FinTrU to comply with the requirements of ISO 27001:2013. Maintenance of the certification requires an annual review and a three-year re-certification, giving FinTrU’s clients confidence that their data is continuously protected under these standards.
Richard McGuinness, FinTrU Chief Operating Officer, said “Achieving ISO 27001 certification is a highly significant and important accomplishment. FinTrU has shown its commitment to the highest levels of security, and demonstrated we have all the necessary controls in place to ensure that this strict standard is met by its technology, people and processes. By benchmarking our policies and procedures against this internationally recognised standard, our clients can be assured of resilience and excellence of our service”.
ISO/IEC 27001:2013 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organisation. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organisation.
In achieving this certification, FinTrU has implemented comprehensive information security practices that protect its users and their information in accordance with internationally recognised standards.
