DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

Over the course of two years, you will receive the freedom and full support of FinTrU as you unlock your potential and make your own unique impact on the global financial services scene. And, you will travel, train, and prepare for the world-renowned qualification, CISI Investment Operating Certificate (IOC).

Claire's Career Path
Claire graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research and joined FinTrU in 2014 as an Analyst 1 through our Financial Services Academy.

Year 1
Worked on first client project in Operational Risk, and sat two exams towards the CISI IOC, passing both.
Year 2
Passed the remaining exam for CISI IOC qualification. Module on Operational Risk. Promoted to Analyst 2.
Year 3-4
Promoted to Associate and undertook a secondment in a tier 1 bank in London for 3 months.
Year 5-6
Secondment in New York, performing an assessment of the bank’s KYC quality framework. Promoted to Senior Associate.
Year 7
Promoted to Vice President in 2022, leading a team on a new client engagement in Financial Crime and Enhanced Due Diligence.
