DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

FinTrU is delighted to announce the continued sponsorship of Queen's Rowing Club for a fourth season

The partnership sees FinTrU support Queen's Rowing Club in their pursuit for success on the water for another season. FinTrU is committed to supporting the Local Talent at the club achieve their goal in performing at the highest level on the Global Stage.
Jordan Wilson, Queen's Rowing Club Captain, said "Over the last few years, the FinTrU sponsorship has allowed the club to travel further than ever anticipated, including France and Spain for training camps and has allowed us to focus our finances on equipment to make us better and faster."
Despite an abrupt end to last season, and most winter races having been cancelled due to weather, the Novice Ladies defeated Trinity in the annual Trinity Sprints and the Men’s quad won a bronze medal at BUCS Head in Newcastle.
Queen’s had six athletes trialling for the Irish team, and three in the GB U23 system. Two athletes represented Ireland at European U23 Championships in Duisburg, one achieving a bronze medal in coxed four.

This season is anticipated to be very successful, with the current athletes being joined in their squads by a new intake from British National Schools Championships, Irish Championships and a Coupe De La Jeunesse medallist.
