North West Academy II completes first week at FinTrU
BY DENISE MCCANN
TUESDAY 26 FEBRUARY 2019
Last week saw our growing North West office warmly welcome the second Financial Services Academy. The additional twenty graduates have now completed their training at North West Regional College and Ulster University and will now begin their employment in FinTrU’s North West office.
Through the Academy experience, our new colleagues have now gained an industry recognised qualification in the form of an Investment Operations Certificate (IOC).
Leah McStravick, FinTrU Academy Manager commented, “I am delighted that FinTrU has successfully welcomed another Academy to the North West. This furthers the growth and expansion for FinTrU in this region and we are excited to continue to facilitate more Financial Services Academies this year. These dates will be released in the upcoming weeks.”
The Financial Services Graduate Academy is a six-week programme, designed to provide graduates with the core skills needed to take up exciting new graduate roles in FinTrU. Graduates receive practical, real-world training on Capital Markets, Financial Regulations, Analytics, and Organisational Skills.
We wish all our new colleagues the very best of luck here at FinTrU.

Jenny Thompson
“I thoroughly enjoyed the Academy experience as it provided me with the opportunity to get to know my future colleagues, learn valuable skills for working within Financial Services, and gain my first qualification in the field. The training and support provided throughout the Academy was excellent and this has already continued into the workplace. I am now part of the KYC team and I am looking forward to continuing my learning and skill-building.”

Ryan McCloskey
“I have really enjoyed my experience in the Academy to date. The Academy was unique in that it allowed me to get to know my future work colleagues, whilst providing the opportunity to study for recognised qualifications in the form of the IOC. I am now part of the KYC team, where I will receive a further two weeks of structured training, which will aid my development.”
Kevin Rogers
“I really enjoyed my time in the Academy and I think it was an ideal introduction to Financial Services for graduates from non-financial backgrounds. The Academy was great for meeting new people and learning the skills required to take up employment with FinTrU. I am looking forward to learning more and developing new skills that can facilitate my career at FinTrU.”
