On Thursday 13 June, over 600 guests attended the 2019 Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards at Titanic Belfast.

FinTrU was named the 2019 ‘Right Place to Work’ on the night. This award recognises a company’s commitment to environmental issues within its organisation along with their strong sense of social responsibility. Alexandra Thompson, FinTrU Associate, was presented with the Right Place to Work Large Organisation Award by business partner Heather Graham, Head of Human Resources at Titanic Belfast.

Darragh McCarthy, FinTrU Founder & CEO, said of the win “I am delighted that FinTrU has won this category this year. To be recognised for the socially responsible and environmental work that our employees have put in is an honour. Our charity and environmental initiatives are employee driven so this award is truly for them.”

FinTrU is focused on improving environmental best practices across the business. These include; offsetting carbon emissions for business travel and energy with ClimateCare, replacing all office stationery with environmentally friendly alternatives and establishing its ECO committee (Environment, Climate, Ownership). The ECO initiative encourages all employees to take ownership of their everyday decisions that impact the environment both inside and outside the office.
