DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

FinTrU wins ‘Right Place to Work’ at the Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards 2019
TUESDAY 18 JUNE 2019
On Thursday 13 June, over 600 guests attended the 2019 Irish News Workplace & Employment Awards at Titanic Belfast.
FinTrU was named the 2019 ‘Right Place to Work’ on the night. This award recognises a company’s commitment to environmental issues within its organisation along with their strong sense of social responsibility. Alexandra Thompson, FinTrU Associate, was presented with the Right Place to Work Large Organisation Award by business partner Heather Graham, Head of Human Resources at Titanic Belfast.
Darragh McCarthy, FinTrU Founder & CEO, said of the win “I am delighted that FinTrU has won this category this year. To be recognised for the socially responsible and environmental work that our employees have put in is an honour. Our charity and environmental initiatives are employee driven so this award is truly for them.”
FinTrU is focused on improving environmental best practices across the business. These include; offsetting carbon emissions for business travel and energy with ClimateCare, replacing all office stationery with environmentally friendly alternatives and establishing its ECO committee (Environment, Climate, Ownership). The ECO initiative encourages all employees to take ownership of their everyday decisions that impact the environment both inside and outside the office.

PIPS is FinTrU’s charity partner for 2019/2020. PIPS Charity delivers Suicide Prevention and Bereavement Support Services, Counselling and Therapies across Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland. In May this year, FinTrU employees from both the Belfast and North West Offices ran the Belfast City Marathon raising a fantastic total of £20,000.
