FinTrU Founder & CEO, Darragh McCarthy, nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018

The shortlist for the 2018 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards has been announced with 24 finalists named across three categories.
Included in the final shortlist is, FinTrU Founder & CEO, Darragh McCarthy who was selected from more than 110 nominations received from across Ireland.
The 24 finalists and their companies employ more than 2,700 people across Ireland and generate annual revenues of €150 million.
The overall winner of this year’s programme will go on to represent Ireland at the World Entrepreneur of the Year in Monaco in June 2019.
Darragh McCarthy said: “To be nominated is a huge honour. I’m proud of the work the team at FinTrU have carried out to help us continue to grow year on year since our founding in December 2013.”
Kevin McLoughlin, partner lead for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme, was quoted in the Irish Times saying: “This year has been one of the most competitive years to date for nominees, and through this competition we have 24 exceptional finalists. We look forward not only to getting to know each of the finalists, but also to seeing the impact they make in the EOY community and their continued impact on the Irish economy.”
Darragh is one of only five finalists with companies based in Northern Ireland. Congratulations to all those named on the shortlist.
