#MeetFinTrU:
CLARE FARRY
LEGAL ASSOCIATE
WHAT IS YOUR LEGAL BACKGROUND?
I completed a LLB Law & Criminology degree in which I received a 2:1 at UUJ.
What did you do after graduating?
After graduating, I went straight into a law firm in Belfast and stayed there for over two years. I was primarily involved with property law/conveyancing and some litigation/debt work.
How has FinTrU REIGNITED YOUR LEGAL CAREER?
FinTrU reignited my legal career as I was able to become involved in completing the legal work for a top tier investment bank (something which I had no experience of in my previous role).
I was able to transfer my already acquired skillset into my new role and learn on the job.
How have you found the transition to financial services?
Working in the world of legal within the financial sector has been extremely rewarding. I have been afforded every opportunity for continuous professional and personal development while working at FinTrU.

What are some of the differences you have noticed?
My role within the law firm had become stale and monotonous, whereas working with my client at FinTrU is extremely diverse and satisfying.
Why would you recommend FinTrU to those from a legal background?
No day is ever the same and the multitude of different avenues for professional development is second to none. Full training is provided and you are always fully supported throughout your transition. Senior members of staff are extremely friendly and approachable and are a great source of motivation throughout the journey. The excellent culture is also a breath of fresh air.
