Amy McMonagle
Analyst 2
when did you join FinTrU?
I joined FinTrU via Belfast Financial Services Academy in February 2020. I am currently an Analyst 2 and work within a Compliance Trade Surveillance project with a Tier 1 Investment Bank client. Prior to FinTrU, I worked in retail and studied Accounting with Tax at Ulster University.
how has fintru supported you during your career development?
FinTrU has allowed me to come out of my comfort zone in many ways. Becoming a mentor to new members of my team, co-hosting a Lunch and Learn and presenting to my client to name just a few. FinTrU has also allowed me to develop both my social and interpersonal skills as well as completing professional qualifications such as CISI and developing skills through Udemy and team training sessions.
Within my team I have been given a variety of responsibilities from day one which provides me with the ability to gain further knowledge of both my role and industry.

Why would you recommend a career at FinTrU?
In FinTrU you always have support, everyone wants you to succeed and pushes you to be the best you can be. FinTrU offers many roles that can suit everyone, and you don't need to be from a financial background.
FinTrU not only encourages you to develop in the role that you have been given but the culture here is extremely important. There’s so much you can get involved with such as raising funds for the charity partner and joining clubs and societies such as Language Club/Yoga/Women in Finance and the Social Committee.
FinTrU is an ever-growing company, and they have a clear progression ladder which allows you to see exactly what is required of you in order to progress within the company. It also provides the opportunity for employees to take a management route or focus more on their subject matter so there really is something for everyone.
What advice would you give to someone who is planning on a career with FinTrU?
There are so many possibilities open to anyone who wants to progress within their career or is taking their first step into the financial industry, but, if you are hardworking and enjoy learning, then FinTrU is the right place for you.
