#MeetFinTrU:

SINEAD CANNON

VICE PRESIDENT

NORTH WEST OFFICE

My name is Sinead Cannon and I joined FinTrU as a Vice President in December 2019.

I am a Client Delivery Manager for a tier 1 Investment Bank on FinTrU's largest KYC refresh project. I am also the Senior Manager of the Outreach Team, which is responsible for directly liaising with the bank’s various business units and clients.

Alongside this, I have responsibility of the US region and managing the senior stakeholder relationships in this area. It’s a fast-paced but very rewarding project, giving all project members the opportunity to build relationships with stakeholders in the bank and across the globe. I am also the senior sponsor for the TrU Wellness Committee, which allows me to give guidance and participate in key wellness initiatives in the company. The cultural opportunities in FinTrU were something that first attracted me to the company, so to feel that I am contributing and supporting on this committee gives me great job satisfaction.

What was your background prior to joining FinTrU?

Before joining FinTrU I started my career as Team Leader in a Financial Services Call Centre here in Derry/Londonderry and, after a move to Liverpool, I started a role as a Back Office Operational Team Manager for a large retail bank. I worked there for 13 years, holding a variety of roles in Account Opening, KYC, Quality Assurance, Operational Risk and Control. I have been able to apply the skills I gained in managing people, stakeholder engagement, process improvement and controls to my role at FinTrU.

How has FinTrU supported you during your career development?

I have a great support network with the managers on my project and the wider FinTrU team. They have helped me every step of the way and are always on hand to help. I had full on-the-job training to embed me into the project and I have attended various internal training courses. I am currently exploring external courses that will further support me in upskilling in Investment Banking.

Why would you recommend a career at FinTrU?

I would recommend FinTrU as the next step in your career as they are truly invested in your future. It is the most inclusive company I have worked for and the opportunity for career progression is clear and structured.

What does it mean to you to be able to work with FinTrU in the North West?

I have the opportunity to work with global clients here in my hometown and learn the world of Investment Banking. Working for FinTrU in the North West has given me a real sense of purpose. I feel like I am part of an exciting journey with the company and contributing to the growth of meaningful careers in our local community. We are changing the landscape of Financial Services jobs here in the North West.
