DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE COURSE?
It was a pleasure to expand my knowledge of FinTech while integrating my new-found knowledge with my industry experience. Reflective learning was promoted in the course, which helped me assess how my learning can be applied to my day-to-day work.
HOW DO YOU THINK THIS WILL HELP YOU IN YOUR CAREER?
You will always be able to advance in your career if you continue to learn as it helps you become the best version of yourself. Personally, and professionally, challenging myself to grow has been a very rewarding experience for me.
WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND TAKING ON ADDITIONAL LEARNING/TRAINING?
The importance of continuous learning is critical for your holistic and professional growth, as it broadens your horizons beyond what you know today. There were times when I found it challenging, but those were all part of my growth process as I pushed myself beyond my own limits. Teaching others what you've learned, and then watching them flourish, is an extremely rewarding experience, both personally and professionally.
