DARRAGH MCCARTHY
FOUNDER & CEO
Darragh McCarthy is the CEO and Founder of FinTrU. He started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994 and remained there until late 2012. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Darragh was based in London, Frankfurt and New York and held various responsibilities including Global COO for Institutional Securities, COO for EMEA, Head of Fixed Income Sales North America and Head of Fixed Income Sales EMEA.
In 2013 Darragh founded FinTrU recognising the increasing demand from Global Investment Banks for high-quality resources to navigate the ever-increasing regulatory landscape. Whilst managed as a profit-driven organisation, Darragh also considers FinTrU as having a social purpose to create high-quality professional employment on the island of Ireland.
Darragh has a First Class Honours BComm International from University College of Dublin, Ireland. He has been nominated for EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018. Darragh speaks fluent German and Dutch.

FinTrU celebrates Fifth Birthday Party

On Friday 14 December, FinTrU celebrated their fifth Birthday. FinTrU was founded on Monday 16 December 2013 and held a party across the Belfast and North West Offices to mark the occasion.
To help celebrate, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year alumni came together to provide food and entertainment on the day with Boojum and Q Radio in attendance.
To begin the party, Q Radio broadcasted live from FinTrU House throughout the day. Q Radio presenter, Ibe Sesay, held a fun-filled music quiz including a bonus round of hits from 2013. FinTrU employees, Guy Doyle, Noah Bartlett, and Joseph Petticrew took part in short interviews on air to share their views on the celebrations and their reviews about working for FinTrU in recent years.
Darragh McCarthy, Founder & CEO and Richard McGuinness, Chief Operations Officer, praised the efforts of all employees and advised the celebration would not have been possible without the hard work put in by the employees over the past five years.
Boojum and Guapo were served up for lunch in the Belfast and North West Offices followed by a delicious afternoon treat from Guilt Trip Doughnuts.
FinTrU would like to thank everyone who helped us celebrate our fifth birthday. It was a great success and a milestone to remember.
