FinTrU announces PIPS as company charity partner for 2019/2020
BY DENISE MCCANN
WEDNESDAY 16 JANUARY 2019
After a company-wide vote, PIPS was selected by FinTrU employees to be the new chosen charity for the next two years. PIPS Charity delivers Suicide Prevention and Bereavement Support Services, Counselling and Therapies across Belfast and throughout Northern Ireland.
As Partnership is one of the company core values, FinTrU partners with a chosen charity for a two-year period, to collaborate and give back to the community where possible.
FinTrU employees were given the opportunity to submit a charity of preference for the new Charity Partnership selection. After shortlisting, five charities were welcomed to FinTrU House to meet and discuss with employees what their charity is and how FinTrU could work with them in the future.
“FinTrU is delighted to announce our partnership with PIPS Charity. We look forward to working in conjunction with PIPS over the next two years, as we are very passionate about partnering with the local community.” Katrien Roppe, FinTrU, Chief of Staff.
Desy Jones, PIPS Charity, Training Co-ordinator, added, ‘PIPS Charity is excited to be FinTrU’s charity partner for the next two years. Not only will this partnership go a long way to maintaining our vital services within the community, but it will offer a wonderful opportunity to raise much-needed awareness around poor mental health and suicide prevention from a company whom I have witnessed at first hand taking the mental health and wellbeing of their employees extremely serious.'
Over the past two years, FinTrU partnered with local charity Include Youth, a regional rights charity for young people in or leaving care, from disadvantaged communities or whose rights are not being met to improve their employability and personal development.
FinTrU has dedicated two years of employee time and efforts to work with the charity and contribute where possible through various activities such as dress down day contributions, Belfast City Marathon sponsorship, bake sales, mountaineering and much more.FinTrU raised a very impressive £36,211.44 for Include Youth thanks to the generous donations and the events planned by our very own employees.
FinTrU is excited to welcome PIPS, our new Company Charity for 2019 onwards. We would like to say a special thank you to all of the charities that expressed interest in working with us.
