FinTrU Lecture Series: Sovereign Debt and Government Borrowing in the United Kingdom

On Thursday 14 November, FinTrU and Queen's Management School hosted the latest FinTrU Lecture Series ‘Sovereign Debt and Government Borrowing in the United Kingdom.’ Guest speaker Sir Robert Stheeman, CEO of the UK Debt Management Office, gave his insight into the history of UK government debt, the creation of the UK Debt Management Office, the evolution of the gilt market and the 2007-2008 financial crisis.

 

Professor John Turner of Queen's Management School opened the event highlighting the partnership between the school and FinTrU which spans three years and includes sponsorship of the FinTrU Trading Room at Riddel Hall.
